Regents Canal Walk

A walk along the Regents Canal from the Angel Basin to Hackney Wick

This post is a celebration of the gorgeous London Canals and all there is going on along them. If you have never taken the time or had the pleasure to walk along any of them, they are a definite must discover.

Often, when people think of London, the hustle and bustle springs to mind, with people in a hurry everywhere - thats not just me is it? I have recently spent a lot of time by some of the Cities Canals and Rivers, giving me a different view of the City. The waterways are a great space to be able to get away from the fast pace of the City and take a slower one, whilst still discovering it. There are many Canals to be explored and my first stop is the Regents Canal which is a hidden gem. (Note: There are loads of amazing canals to be explored in different Cities, not just London!)

Why not try something different when you are next in London and see the City from a different perspective?  This is a small snippet of what is on offer along a mini stretch of the Regents Canal. This particular section was from Angel (Islington City Road Basin) to Hackney Wick area. There is so much to see and do along here, if so wished. I ended up mainly taking photos, seeing the sights and occasionaly stopping for a little chat with some people I met along the way.

The waterways are an amazing way to see London from a different perspective whilst getting some fresh air and exercise. A great place to get the cogs turning, take sometime from the computer screen (if you are working in the area and a non tourist), connect with the surroundings, nature and others.

The perfect remedy for most things really and hopefully a whole new world of discovery to spark the imagination too.

Go and explore for yourself.
