Tattoo - Thistle, an important symbol of Scottish heraldry.
Thank you Carla for sharing her thistle tattoo.
A thistle is inked on Carla, which is an important symbol of Scottish heraldry and has been for over 500 years. It also represents one of the highest honours the country can give an individual.
Her sister drew the thistle for her during lockdown, inked just before she went to uni where there would be people from different countries - so thought it would be great to have a thistle inked as a symbol of Scotland and a talking point. It’s always a good topic of conversation with people from other countries, as they realise how patriotic Scottish people are. From the observations and conversations with others about her tattoo, Carla realised how patriotic she actually is and Scottish people are, it’s in their blood.
Definition of Patriotic - having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one's country.
Are you patriotic? What is your symbol of patriotism?
